Integrated Electronic Brake with First Dual Safety Design
Mando IDB2 HAD, the first integrated (1 box) electronic brake to be released with double safety design, works normally even when single point failure occurs while driving due to the concept of full redundancy.
The IDB2 HAD perfectly complements the e-brake pedal, providing an "auto-storage" feature that folds or unfolds the pedal as needed in highly autonomous driving conditions. In terms of maximizing tool space and design flexibility, the IDB2 HAD is very similar to Mando's "steer-by-wire (SbW)" technology, which won the CES Innovation Award last year. The IDB2 HAD is another product of Mando's wired solution that eliminates mechanical connections and together with SbW, allows fully autonomous vehicle users to engage in many other activities on the go.
Eco Friendly Product
Another feature of IDB2 HAD is that it is an environmentally friendly product. Most commercially available brake systems while mechanically coupled to the brake pedal, ESC (electronic stability control) consists of main booster, vacuum pump, etc... Braking is activated by the action of only one driver and braking force is generated via the hydraulic line. This design covers a large area while needing longer time to assembly. By integrating these individual components into a single box design, Mando provides weight reduction and production optimization. In summary, IDB2 is an environmentally friendly product that provides a significant reduction in carbon emissions.
